Julian Assange has finally been granted asylum from Ecuador after a two month wait. The Wikileaks founder is still in the Ecuadorian embassy in London where he has spent weeks waiting for the decision. He has been facing extradition to Sweden where he is pending charges over alleged sex crimes, and had feared a transfer there would end with him being sent to the US to be charged with his role in whistleblowing.
